Hi, my name is Lindsey Jean Zimmerman. I am a first-year student at Valencia College starting Fall 2024 hoping to get my Associate in Science for Plant Science and Technology. I started this business as a senior at Lake Nona High School while I was the Vice President of our Lake Nona FFA Chapter. In FFA, a part of our time is dedicated to our SAE project. SAE stands for Supervised Agricultural Experience and we can choose any agricultural project for a chance at scholarships and more! I chose the entrepreneurial approach and decided to sell custom corsages and boutonnieres to the Lake Nona community. If you have experience in this field I would love any feedback or information you have as it will help me greatly while pursuing this project.
In the future, I hope to continue with Jeans Greens Flowers and sell flower arrangements to the Orlando community. I also wish to expand to wedding and event arrangements. Agriculture is a passion of mine and sharing my love of flowers and plants by making beautiful arrangements is something I want to do full-time! I want to share my knowledge of agriculture with future generations and teach about all of the incredible innovations that have happened in the field!
Thank you to my high school FFA advisors, Ms. Snyder and Mr. Smith, for giving me all the tools and knowledge necessary to make this project (turned full-time business) happen and thank you to my friends and family for supporting me throughout this project and all my other ag endeavors!
